Female Race Car Driver "Racing For Survivors" of Breast
Cancer
Melissa Simms, a local female race car driver from Freehold, takes to the
race track Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Wall Stadium in Wall, NJ as a tribute
to all women who have endured the fight against breast cancer. She will be
bringing awareness on the race track to Breast Cancer education and early
detection. Breast Cancer affects 1 out of 8 women and every 13 minutes a
woman dies of breast cancer. Every woman is at risk.
Melissa's "Racing For Survivors" tribute Enduro race car features a special
black and pink paint scheme design specifically for this race.
Breast Cancer survivors who attend the race will be able to sign the large
pink bows on Melissa's race car and the survivors will "ride"
along with her during the race. Melissa is hoping to take the survivors to
the checkered flag first!!
The Breast Cancer fight is personal to Melissa. Melissa has three family
members who are Breast Cancer survivors, an aunt and two cousins.
Needless to say, this tribute race for the survivors of breast cancer has a
huge personal significance attached to it. Melissa feels that this race is
her most important race of the season.
Melissa Simms is racing in the NEETS Enduro series. This is her rookie
season where she is currently 3rd in the point standings. Her highlight of
the season was her first career win in the NEETS Ladies Only race in July
2009. She will attempt another win on Sunday in the Ladies Only race that is
scheduled. For more information and pictures, visit her web
