Mahoning
Valley Speedway Announces the Trick-or-Treat 200
With the rain that forced
the cancellation of this past Saturday night’s Hand Four of the Modified 100
Poker Series race as well s the continuation of Hand Three at Lehighton’s
Mahoning Valley Speedway, a revision to the schedule has now been made to
accommodate those events.
The still-to-be completed
63 laps of Hand Three will now be held on October 3. That same night will be
Hand Four of the Poker Series. All regular track classes, Late Models,
Street Stocks, Pro4 Late Models and Dirt Modifieds will also be in action
for their final point races of the season.
Now, in order to fulfill
the five race Poker Series so an overall champ can be crowned, a new date
had to be found and after carefully looking at what is available, it has
been decided that Saturday afternoon October 31 will be the 2009 curtain
call event at Mahoning.
Being dubbed, “The
Trick-or-Treat 200” there will be a pair of 200-lap feature races, one for
the Modifieds and the other for the Street Stocks.
Not only will it be Hand Five for the Modified 100 Poker Series, it is also
a double-point event for the class which will determine the this year’s
track champion.
As is the case for all
100-lappers the winner’s jackpot will be $3000. Plus it will be time to show
the hands of the players that raced in all of the Poker races and see who
walks away with the $2500 top prize along with $1500 for second best and
$1000 for third.
Keeping in mind that night
is Halloween, there will be a 2:00 p.m. start so enough time is there to run
both features and have the youngsters back home for trick-or-treating.
The track is planning
special treats for the kids that day and after the races are over they are
invited to bring their treat bags into the pits and meet the drivers.
The Modifieds will run time
trials with the top-12 locked into the main. All others will compete in
heats and a consolation.
The Street Stocks will run
heats to determine their starting grid. The winner’s share will be announced
shortly. All Street Stocks racers are welcome to compete.
Racing action at Mahoning
continues this Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. with all regular track classes
plus the postponed July 25 Late Model and Street Stock features. Also on the
card will be the 4c Super Mods.
On Saturday night,
September 5 the fifth annual Street Stock 100 will be held. Joining the
Streeters will be all regular track classes plus the Sportsman Micro Stocks.
The postponed July 25 Dirt Modified feature will also be run.
