Mahoning
Modified Drivers Ready to Resume Play Then Re-deal in Poker Series 100
With Hand Four of the
Modified 100 Poker Series slated for Saturday night, August 22 at
Lehighton’s Mahoning Valley Speedway, there is still the business of
completing Hand Three which began on July 25 but was halted after 37 of the
scheduled 100 laps due to rain.
The remaining 63 laps will
kick off the evening followed by a complete program of stock car racing
which includes Late Models, Street Stocks, Pro4 Late Models, Dirt Modifieds
and Sportsman Micro Stocks.
Race time is set for 6:00 p.m.
When the Modifieds hit the
track for the conclusion of Hand Three, point leader John Bennett will have
the lead over Chip Santee, Tom Flanagan, Hand One winner Eric Beers and Rick
Reichenbach.
After that race is
completed, regular division heat races will then take place followed by time
trials and heats for the Modifieds. The top-12 in time will then have a
redraw.
With $3000 being paid to
each Poker Series winner, one lucky driver could possibly cash in on a big
jackpot by evening’s end.
Additionally, the top three
drivers who hold the best poker hand at the end of the special five race
series will be rewarded with $2500, $1500 and $1000 respectively. The
remaining Poker Series race is on October 3.
At the present time Tom Flanagan holds a pair of sixes after recording
back-to-back ninth place tallies in the first two100-lappers. Next is Hand
Two winner Earl Paules with an Ace and King.
The Modified 100 Poker
Series has thus far generated plenty of excitement and with two sets of
cards being dealt in one night it should have everyone piqued with
anticipation to see who will be holding the best hand heading into the final
race.
