Top Five for Frantz
The Frantz Racing Team entered Saturday night's evening with high hopes.
During the off week, the team did more work to try and improve the handling
of the Associated Chiropractic/MetLife #210.
Frantz started third in the feature event and quickly moved into second
position. A caution on lap four gave Frantz the chance to take the lead.
When the green flag flew, Paul got the advantage coming out of turn two. As
he entered turn three, Paul found himself three wide and on the outside. He
was able to move back into the groove and hold the second position. Another
caution flew on lap six, and again Paul would restart second on the outside.
Paul edged into the lead only to find himself on the outside of three wide
again. Unfortunately, he was unable to keep his position and fell back to
fifth.
The handling of the car still was not right so Frantz just rode in fifth.
Just past half way in the forty lap race, the car started getting better and
Frantz started to catch the lead pack. With the race being caution filled,
the Sundance Vacations officials decided to end the race on lap
thirty-eight. At the finish, Frantz was running fourth, matching his best
finish of the season.
After climbing from the car and talking with crew chief Shaun Burd, Frantz
stated:"The car got better as we ran. We still need something to get off the
corners."
Saturday was also the Mark Corbisiero Memorial for the Street Stocks. Crew
Chief Shaun Burd started the race fifteenth, and drove his way to an eighth
place finish.
Next up is Sunday October 4th with Twin 30 Lap features for the Sport
Modifieds. Racing starts at 2:00pm. For more information go to
