Bad Luck Relegates Frantz to Sixteenth
The Frantz Racing Team entered Saturday night's event with heavy hearts.
Just eight days prior, crew member Dan Betz lost his life in a motor cycle
accident. Paul wanted to honor Dan with a good finish or hopefully a win.
Neither happened.
Paul was a victim of racing in both his heat and the feature. At the start
of the heat race, Paul was hit in the left front wheel forcing him to pit
before completing a lap. The team changed the left front tire and sent the
Associated Chiropractic #210 back to the speedway.
Paul was able to finish fifth and earn a spot in the feature. For the
feature, Paul started seventh and was starting to move to the front.
Entering turn three on lap four, Paul overdrove and pushed up the track.
Coming out of turn four, Paul was hit again in the left front by another car
breaking the tie rod off. The team made repairs getting the Haines Exxon car
back out. Unfortunately, Paul lost some laps, but the team was determined to
finish the race. Paul finished sixteenth.
After the races Paul stated:"Not the finish I was looking for. I just wish
we could have gotten to see what the car could have done. It wasn't bad even
with the front end bent. I think I learned some more about how to drive this
car tonight. Hopefully I'll be better next time".
Next up is August 22nd with a make up feature from July 25 plus a full night
schedule. Racing starts at 5:00 pm. Also, the team will be hosting a car
show August 23rd at Spring Hill Miniature Golf Course in Schnecksville from
11 - 3. Anyone who brings a ticket stub from any race track will receive
half off a round of golf. For more information, go to the team website
